Hyundai…the Maytag of the Car Industry
I can’t remember when I saw the first TV commercial depicting the Maytag repairman sitting around wishing someone would call for a repair on their Maytag product without any luck. I’ve always thought it was a fabulous marketing idea for the company and now that it’s lasted decades it’s even more obvious that it’s a successful one!
In an article I ran across recently about Hyundai I was reminded of the Maytag repairman. The Hyundai warranty was under discussion and a Hyundai spokesperson was asked how the implementation of the warranty affected the company. The spokesperson’s answer surprised me. He said that the costs were always lower than their initial projections.
It must be stated here that the Hyundai warranty is the best in the business with 10 years/100,000 miles powertrain; 5 years/60,000 miles bumper to bumper, etc.) So the fact that they’ve got one of the most extensive warranties available and they are constantly overestimating how much fulfilling this obligation is going to cost the company…you’ve got to see where I’m going here. They’ve produced such a high quality product that they’ve left me feeling haunted by the Maytag repairman! That’s some undeniable peace of mind right there. You’re buying a new car. Here’s the best warranty available. And just so you know…the product is so great, you probably won’t need to use it!
There isn’t a consumer in the entire world who doesn’t appreciate a quality product and there isn’t a successful car manufacturer out there who doesn’t realize this and take it into account. At Hyundai they’ve not only taken it into account, but they’ve done a great job of actually instilling quality throughout their vehicles from design to function.
Standing out from the crowd isn’t hard with you have the impressive warranty that Hyundai offers, but they also took into account the other undeniably important aspect of car manufacturing that leaves the public feeling like they can trust their new Hyundai: safety features. It isn’t just a happy coincidence that Hyundai’s 2006 Sonata was the first midsize sedan to offer Electronic Stability Control (ESC) standard. This particular safety feature lowers single vehicle crashes by 35% and results in 30% less single vehicle fatalities.
Hyundai definitely carved a niche for themselves in the past and they continue to settle into it comfortably withe ever better vehicle line ups year after year. For more information on the Hyundai’s current line up and the features you can enjoy get online at HyundaiTempe.com.
